Combine or Stack your Coupons

Good Sunday Morning!

It's going to be a great day for shopping!

One of the topics I wanted to cover for all you new couponers, is how to maximize your savings and build a great stockpile for less money.

Each store has their own coupon policy, and before you shop there, be sure to go to their website, print and read their policy. This is very important, because, it is no fun when you go to the register and they question you or tell you they can't take this coupon, more than 2 or 4 of that coupon, etc etc. Believe me, it's happened to me many times. Be a courtesous couponer and be sure to know the policy before you checkout.

What I do to save the most money, is shop for what is on sale. I read the Sunday inserts, scanning for items that look to be very inexpensive, or ones that I know I have coupons for. I also research various websites, that offer tips and coupon matchups to help me plan my trip.

To save the most time, I PLAN my trip. I get my list together, my coupons together and then go on my trip. This way, you are only shopping for what you intend on buying, and nothing more. I used to be a shopper that went into the store and just bought things because I needed them. Now I stockpile things on sale with coupons, so that those things I need, I always have. When I run low, I scour for a new deal and stock up again.

Now on to stacking or combining coupons. Most store policies allow you to have 2 coupons per item you are purchasing. A Manufacturer Coupon and a Store Coupon. So for example, like the post I put up yesterday about the free candy, I had printed a $1 off coupon store coupons (Target) from Target.com and I had clipped a $2 off coupon from the newspaper back in August. The price of the item is $2.99, so by using BOTH coupons on the one item, you get it for FREE.

Publix grocery is one of the main stores I like to shop at for great grocery deals. Many people have said that Publix is expensive, and they might be if you only shop for regular groceries there. But I find with the sales, BOGO's (Buy One Get One Free) and stacking coupons, I can get many items at a great savings. I average about 70% savings there at Publix, which is way better than ZERO savings.

One thing most people don't realize is that you can also STACK and COMBINE coupons on the FREE item of a BOGO as well. So when buying a BOGO deal, use 2 manufacturer coupons and 2 store coupons on the deal to get both items even cheaper!

Hope this little helps you a little in your coupon shopping - good luck today!
