Walmart has been harder and harder to have a good shopping experience, when shopping with coupons. The past 3 times I have shopped, the CSM has been called, they scrutinize every coupon, and I've found that the Manager's do not even know their own policy. They don't understand "overage applied to basket", "Per Purchase vs Per Transaction" and many other terms. I may just have to give up on them after all. However, Note at the bottom of this Policy I downloaded today.

I guess I will be sure I have less than 40 coupons and $50 worth of coupons when I shop. It's just not fun to have them come over and hold up their already super long lines.

Here is my experience from last weekend.

I shopped for probably over an hour, I had items from beauty, household goods, a fan, food, makeup, a carpet steam cleaner, paper goods and more. I stood in line over 30 minutes to get to checkout. I think I had some 80 items in my cart, and was using some common coupons I had used multiple times for the Free Items, such as Loreal Shampoo trial sizes, Bic Disposable Shavers, Almay Makeup, Benedryl. I only had 4 for those which stated 4. My total cart purchase was over $300 and after coupons my checkout total was $250. The register automatically called the CSM. Now my line behind me is about 10 customers deep, as they never have enough registers open. CSM takes her time getting there, the cashier leaves her post to go find her.

Once she gets there, she says "these coupons only allow one per purchase, so you can't use 10 of them" I explained to her that "Purchase" more or less means "item" and it does not state "per transaction" like so many of the coupons say now. She then berated the cashier over and over about reading the details and paying attention to "these couponers", because you can't let just anything go. KEEP IN MIND - every single coupon scanned and accepted by their register, and I do not abuse coupons, I buy exactly what is required per the coupon.

So after going through them all, the CSM says, I have to take you over to customer service and fix this. I said "No Thanks, I think that after spending 40 minutes in line, I think I don't need any of these items bad enough to do that". So I just left her with a cart full of items.

I wonder how long it takes the Walmart Employees to put all of those items (80 of them from different departments) back on their shelves? That really saved them some money. Not to mention that I am now thinking about transferring my prescriptions elsewhere, and shopping less there. I will remember "boycott Walmart" everytime I think about shopping there. LOL

It's important to know the store policy at every store you decide to use coupons at - CVS has a few unique things. You get great coupons to match up with your manufacturer coupons there.
